GateGuru for your iPhone
GateGuru is a real cool tool for your iPhone
The basic concept behind GateGuru is that it can help you find amenities at the airport. Its list is extremely comprehensive. When you start the app, it uses your current location to pick the closest airport (or the airport you are at right now). Obviously, you can manually select airports if you need information on an upcoming trip or segment.
Once in an airport selection, you simply pick the terminal (for multi-terminal airports), then you are presented with a list of all the amenities. The list is fantastic. You'll find the common stuff like restaurants and shops, but also ATM's, mailboxes, computer charging stations and frequent flier lounges. You can also narrow down the results by selecting food, shops or services as your search category.
You can search for these locations by name, and by gate, as each of the entries describes exactly where you'll find it. So, if you are sitting at gate B22, you can enter the gate number, and find exactly what's around you.
Once in an entry, you can view its location, photo, rating, category and any user submitted reviews. That user submission portion of the app is one of its best features, and a sure way to kill some time at the airport. Just had a bad lunch at the airport ? Rate the establishment from inside the app, and share it with the world. Found an awesome bakery? Describe what made it so cool, and help fellow travelers.
Your may want to add EuropebyAir to your iPhone directory for quick reference when seeking cheap fares to and around Europe 1-888-321-4737

Movie map helps UK tourists to discover Sherlock Holmes'
Tourists are being encouraged to embark on their own mystery adventure ahead of the launch of the new Sherlock Holmes film.
UK tourism chiefs have themed their latest travel campaign around the film, which is based on the famous books by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and opens in cinemas on Boxing Day.
On online movie map invites tourists to discover Sherlock Holmes' Britain and provides a round-up of the famous locations that feature in the film, including St Paul's Cathedral, the Houses of Parliament, Manchester town hall, Liverpool Docks and the Old Royal Naval College at Greenwich, south London.
The website, which also features footage from the film and information about the Sherlock Holmes Museum at 221B Baker Street in London, encourages visitors to plan short breaks to London, Liverpool, Manchester and Edinburgh with a Sherlock Holmes theme.
The film's director Guy Ritchie said: "Sherlock Holmes is an iconic British character and bringing our story to life on the streets of London, Liverpool and Manchester was part of the fun of making this film.
"Given the 150th anniversary of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's birth this year, I'm excited to unleash our version of Sherlock Holmes to audiences in the UK and around the world."
Downey Jr said: "Sherlock Holmes has great pride in being English. London is an incredibly fascinating city and the centre of the world at the time our film takes place. Holmes knows every inch of it and feels it's his city. It was great fun filming throughout Britain."
